Are you easy going, enjoy fishing, footy, or playing 8 Ball and looking for casual work?
I am a middle-aged man living in Burnside seeking the right person to assist me to engage with my community to enjoy doing the things I love and spending time with the people that matter to me.
I enjoy playing 8 Ball, fishing, golf, swimming, watching footy, dance music, and spending time with my family and friends down south. I like to be around people, whether it’s going out for coffee, spending time at the beach or taking a cruise through the city. I’m also interested in checking out a Men’s Shed to get back into making things with my hands.
I’m a regular smoker so it’s great if you are too or at least don’t mind being around people who smoke. You’ll also need to be reasonably strong to push my wheelchair. I live in Burnside now but am hoping to relocate to the southern area – it would be ideal if you were local to that area or at least not further north of Burnside.
You don’t need to have prior experience in disability support because we will guide you in learning what you need to know.
You will assist with me for 12 hours per week over 2-3 days on a regular schedule. Some days we’ll stay local and do things like visit my favourite cafés or play 8 Ball and on other days we’ll go fishing or visit my family down south. You will work closely with my family and I to explore opportunities for me to pursue my interests.
This Casual Employment Position in a Community engagement role is for 12 hours a week @ $35.51/hr.
There will be a good match with me if you are respectful, listen to what I have to say, easy going, reliable, organised, motivating, a good communicator and enthusiastic.
You must have a valid Drivers’ Licence, a road worthy vehicle suitable for work purposes and have or be prepared to undertake a Current Senior First Aid Certificate and Disability Services Employment Clearance.
If you think you have what it will take to support me to pursue a good life please email expressions of interest based on the attached questions to [email protected] by Monday 18th January 2021.
