Katrina Fredberg

Manager, Circles of Support

Katrina mentors CLP’s Circle of Support facilitators, drawing on more than 20 years of experience. Throughout her career, she has connected with people living with disabilities, their families, and circle friends, from all walks of life.

Katrina deeply believes that freely given relationships, when you truly know the person, can become the strongest advocates and will keep people safe. Katrina values the reciprocal nature of Circle friendships, speaking from her own experience with one of her closest friends Heather, the long-term commitment they both made for each other, for over 25 years. Heather became a member of Katrina’s family with their shared love of music, the Crows, holidaying and sharing a good laugh. Katrina and her family had the privilege to be by Heather’s bedside when she recently passed away.

Katrina is a parent, teacher, and community connecter with lived experience of how vital strong support networks can be with her own family going through vulnerable times… when there is opportunity and space, people are there and want to be asked. Katrina assists families to build Circles of Support around their loved one working in partnership, building family leadership, assisting people to explore what’s possible growing their hopes and dreams and including others on the journey. Outside of work, she loves reading, music, bike riding, hiking, camping, her happy place is being out in nature with her family and their dog Buster or catching up with girlfriends for a good old chat over a meal and a glass of wine.
