Support Worker Casual Employment – approx 10-20 hours a week

Are you a mature and experienced person who has successfully worked with a person with a disability and their family in their home? Do you have strong communication skills and the ability to be committed, flexible and challenged by a potential role as a team leader?

I am a woman in my 40’s who lives with my family in the Eastern Suburbs. My interests involve visiting botanical gardens, the beach, central markets and short getaways from city life. It is essential to have people around me who can recognise and enhance the aspects of my life that are important to me.

I am looking to move into my own home in the future and would like someone to join my support team who could provide a long-term commitment to walk this journey with me and my family. Building a respectful and trusted relationship with me and my family is critical to being the right person to eventually become a team leader.

In partnership with my family and support team, you will work across a 7-day roster that requires flexibility and reliability. Duties include providing personal care, helping me recover from occasional seizures, assisting with communication and household tasks including laundry, meal preparation/cooking, cleaning.   You will also enable me to use my interests to build and sustain relationships to connect with and contribute to my community.

You will need (or willing to obtain) a DHS Screening Clearance, training to assist with medication, manual handling and First Aid Certificate, as well a driver’s license and roadworthy vehicle.

Please forward expressions of interests detailing the reason for your application and what skills you would bring to the support worker role along with a current CV to [email protected]
